A 40 year old man was set upon by a group of up to five people in Carrington Street, Kettering.
The assault took place between 1:45am and 2:15am on Sunday, 27 July by a group of between two and five people.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the assault and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Police have already spoken to numerous witnesses, however, they are urging anyone else who saw the assault or has any information to contact them.
Anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
