Thomas Leaves Poppies

Kettering Town manager Dean Thomas has left the club.

In a brief statement on the Poppies website, it was announced that Thomas, 52, "reached a mutual agreement to step down".

The move will come as a surprise as Thomas guided his charges to the brink of promotion, losing 3-2 to Slough Town in the play off final, in a heart breaking conclusion to the season.

Thomas Baillie and Scott Machin have been named as joint managers for the time being, although the club have indicated that the board are exploring their options of another permanent manager.

Steve Kinniburgh will remain as club captain.
